We encourage all participants to stay at the conference hotel to reduce meeting room surcharges, facilitate interaction with other participants, and to make it easier for you to attend conference meetings and functions.

The Hotel Galvez - A Wyndham Historic Hotel in Galveston, Texas, was known as the "Queen of the Gulf" on the day she opened in 1911. For nearly a century, this charming Galveston hotel has been the choice of guests as demanding and diverse as Teddy Roosevelt, Howard Hughes and Frank Sinatra. A $9-million renovation has restored the Hotel Galvez to its rightful place as a timeless showplace on the Gulf of Mexico.
You must call the hotel directly to make reservations before May 19, 2007. Please mention the "Forest Tree Improvement Conference" to obtain the special rate of $99 plus tax per night (available June 18 through June 21). The cost of lodging is not included in the registration fee. A limited number of rooms are available at $159 for June 22 and 23, Friday and Saturday after the conference. Travel From Houston
Travel Interstate 45 South (Gulf Freeway) to the Galveston Causeway. Soon after crossing the Causeway, I-45 becomes Broadway (SR-87, Ave. J). Continue traveling along Broadway for approximately 2.6 miles. Turn right (south) on 25th St. (Rosenberg Ave.) and continue .8 miles to Seawall Boulevard. Turn left onto Seawall Blvd. and continue northeast for approximately .4 miles. Hotel Galvez will be on your left at 2024 Seawall Blvd.
