Lago Vista earns 'Firewise' designation

May 15, 2012 – LAGO VISTA, Texas – Texas Forest Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are pleased to join homeowners in Lago Vista next week to celebrate their Firewise Communities USA designation.  Lago Vista earned the National Fire Protection Association’s “Firewise” status by obtaining a wildfire risk assessment, forming a committee, creating an action plan based on the assessment, conducting a community cleanup event, investing a minimum of  $2 per capita in local Firewise actions and submitting an application to their state Firewise liaison.   More than...
