Texas A&M Forest Service provides eligible fire departments with programs designed to enhance their ability to protect the public and fire service personnel from fire and related hazards. Ten highly successful programs are currently administered by the department.

The Capacity Building Department offers programs that benefit Texas. Fire departments can discover and achieve their potential. Citizens are better served by well trained and equipped fire department personnel. In the case of TFS, we develop a long list of cooperators in our fire service mission to protect life and property.

We encourage fire departments to take advantage of the Capacity Building Programs for several reasons, there is a continuing need to recruit and develop talented firefighters to protect life and property, ensure that the Texas Fire Service can meet its professional, technical, and administrative needs, and achieve a quality and diverse fire service. Participation in the Capacity Building Programs can help fire departments meet these needs.
