The job of Resource Specialist (Wildland Firefighter) is considered a full-time emergency response position and applicants, on any given day, could find themselves working with dozers, engines or hand tools. Firefighters also help train and equip area volunteer fire departments and work with local communities to reduce potential wildfire risks.

The ideal candidate is adventurous, passionate and feels rewarded by a hard day’s work. Fire and/or emergency response experience is preferred but not required.

Fire Coordinator  



A
 Fire Coordinator is a supervisory position that requires the employee to respond to wildfires as well as interact regularly with the community and local government. Though the position is considered a full-time emergency response job, fire coordinators also help train and equip area fire departments and work with local communities to reduce potential wildfire risks.

The position is open to wildland and structural firefighters as well as natural resource professionals who possess a bachelor's  degree. Veteran firefighting experience is preferred.

Task Force Coordinator provides localized oversight and leadership to the fire suppression task force and units assigned to their branch. They also assist the Fire Coordinator in interactions with the communities, fire departments and other response agencies within their branch.

The position is open to wildland and structural firefighters as well as natural resource professionals who possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Wildland Urban Interface



A
 Wildland Urban Interface Specialist (WUI) focuses on providing proactive mitigation and prevention programs to local governments, fire departments and citizens. They must have the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people to complete mitigation planning, establish Firewise Communities, instill Ready, Set, Go practices to citizens and assist fire departments on challenges related to the Wildland Urban Interface.

This position is required to obtain and maintain firefighter qualifications and must possess a bachelor's degree in Natural Resource Management, Fire Management/Ecology, Agricultural Leadership or closely related field.
