The job of Wildland Firefighter is considered a full-time emergency response position and applicants, on any given day, could find themselves working with dozers, engines or hand tools. Firefighters also help train and equip area volunteer fire departments and work with local communities to reduce potential wildfire risks.

The ideal candidate is adventurous, passionate and feels rewarded by a hard day’s work. Fire and/or emergency response experience is preferred but not required.

A Regional Fire Coordinator is a supervisory position that requires the employee to respond to wildfires as well as interact regularly with the community and local government. Though the position is considered a full-time emergency response job, regional fire coordinators also help train and equip area fire departments and work with local communities to reduce potential wildfire risks.

The position is open to wildland and structural firefighters as well as natural resource professionals. A natural resource degree or veteran firefighting experience is preferred.
