Covington Volunteer Fire Department of Hill County, received an $18,000
grant through the Texas A&M Forest Service Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program. The
grant was used to purchase rescue tools.
The cutter and spreader the department bought will be used at emergency scenes where extrication is
needed.
The new equipment replaces older extrication equipment. This will allow the department to better serve
its community.
Covington Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank Brian Williams with Advanced Resource
Systems for assisting the department with buying new equipment. “He was a tremendous help, and we
are grateful for the knowledge he provided,” said Brad Johnson, Assistant Fire Chief.
