The Texas Legislature and governor approved a historic investment in the Rural VFD Assistance Program, including $192 million in one-time funding to address previously unfunded grant requests and an additional $44 million over the next two years. This funding will help provide fire trucks, protective gear, and other critical equipment to volunteer fire departments across Texas.
