Purpose

Establish, enhance, and manage longleaf pine 

Practices

Prescribed burning, site preparation, reforestation, and forest stand improvement 

Eligibility

Landowners with properties in Angelina, Chambers, Cherokee, Hardin, Houston, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Nacogdoches, Newton, Orange, Panola, Polk, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby, Trinity, and Tyler counties 

Application

The grant application closes annually April 15 and Sept. 30

About

The Texas Longleaf Conservation Assistance Program provides eligible landowners with financial and technical assistance for establishing, enhancing, and managing longleaf pine. Landowners with property within 20 East Texas counties are eligible to apply.  

Approved participants may receive reimbursement based on a standard rate for implementing approved conservation practices. Approved conservation practices include prescribed burning, site preparation, reforestation, and forest stand improvement. 

Funding for this program is provided by National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) and is administered through the Texas Longleaf Pine Implementation Team and Texas A&M Forest Service.
