West Lake Limestone receives training aid grant through Texas A&M Forest Service

West Lake Limestone Volunteer Fire Department received a grant through the
Texas A&M Forest Service Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program to purchase training
aids. The $10,000 grant aided in the purchase of an Intelligent Training System Base Unit and
controller.


The equipment will be used to provide live fire training to members of the department. It will also allow
the department to run fire extinguishing training seminars for the community.


West Lake Limestone Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank the Texas A&M Forest Service
and the Lions Club for helping the department receive the grant.

As a member agency of the Texas A&M University System, Texas A&M Forest Service administers the
Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program and is committed to protecting lives, property and
natural resources. The Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program is funded by the Texas
Legislature and provides cost-share funding to rural volunteer fire departments for the acquisition of
firefighting vehicles, fire and rescue equipment, protective clothing, dry hydrants, computer systems and
firefighter training.
