Texas A&M Forest Service provides financial and technical assistance to forest landowners in an effort to encourage forest landowners to implement preventive measures to minimize or
prevent future infestations of Southern Pine Beetle (SPB). Eligible landowners must own a minimum of 10 contiguous forested acres that are predominately composed of pine species and located within one of the 21 priority counties.
For
FY 2025, Texas A&M Forest Service through funding from USDA Forest Service-Region 8 and Forest Health Protection, is providing financial assistance up to $50.00 per acre to eligible landowners to assist in the first thinning of overly dense, pulpwood sized pine stands. Landowners and potential project sites must meet certain
eligibility criteria that have been established for the program.
