What is Nature Challenge?

Nature Challenge is a platform that helps people across the U.S. connect with nature, engage with it in new ways, and take meaningful action to protect our natural resources.

It’s a 21st-century solution to a common question: How can we make a positive impact on our environment and build a sustainable world?

Free and accessible to everyone, Nature Challenge offers a fun way for individuals, families, and communities to rebuild their connection to ecosystems near and far.

The challenge begins when explorers take part in games, activities, and hands-on conservation projects shared by Nature Challenge providers. Challenges help participants build new skills, explore new places, and join real-world projects that improve the health and sustainability of our ecosystems.

As explorers complete more challenges, they earn badges that recognize their growing knowledge and appreciation for our environment.

What Nature Challenge offers

Nation-wide learning

Nature Challenge provides users with a unique opportunity to connect with and learn from different ecosystems across the U.S. Whether close to home or traveling, users can visit Nature Challenge to find fun places to explore, play, and learn about the world around you.

Distance-based learning

Nature Challenge brings educational resources and learning tools to the comfort of your home.  “Anywhere Challenges” are not tied to a specific location and can be completed at a time and space that best suits you, allowing for flexible and accessible learning.

Accessibility

The platform is designed with everyone in mind. Featuring functions and challenges that support the unique needs of users with visual, hearing, and mobility impairments, cognitive differences, and sensory needs. Everyone deserves an opportunity to participate and learn in the outdoors.

A creative outlet

Nature Challenge encourages both providers and explorers to take an active role in conservation. Providers can create and share challenges that inspire communities to engage with nature. Explorers can plan their own adventures and become conservation advocates along the way.

Providers can be any organization, business, or private entity committed to environmental sustainability, increased access to the outdoors, and environmental education for all ages and abilities.

Nature Challenge Explorers are anyone interested in learning and connecting with the outdoors. There’s something for everyone. Explorers can create a free account and find new ways to explore, play, and contribute to a healthier world to earn virtual badges.

Anyone can sign up as an explorer and complete challenges to earn badges and learn more about Natural Resource Conservation.
