Through the Leadership Institute, we offer a transformative experience for participants, leaving deep and lasting impacts on their ability to lead in daily work environments.
We rally existing and emerging leaders within the fields of natural resources and emergency management from organizations across Texas and increase their capacity and ability to enact meaningful change throughout Texas. We do this through:
Dynamic and engaging speakers and facilitators
Stimulating presentations that challenge participants to think creatively to overcome complex problems
A constructive and inspiring learning environment, enabling opportunity for personal growth
Participants complete two in-person sessions, one fall and one spring, as well as monthly virtual lunch and learn sessions for the five months in between.

Why attend
Frank Keck, Core Build Solutions, Leadership Institute Facilitator
Hughes Simpson, Texas A&M Forest Service
I have attended many leadership development programs, and I’ve noticed a common issue – their agendas often ignore the complex realities of managing people, even though strong relationships are essential for organizational success. This program is different. It tackles many practical topics to help leaders improve their organizations, with an emphasis on building human connections.
—Phillip Arroyo, 2023–2024 class graduate
Nancy Windham, Texas Forest Country Partnership
Ted Stevens, Texas Forestry Association
I will absolutely be using the resources, tips and connections gained from the institute to forward our work at The Nature Conservancy, with partners and with the communities we serve. A key part of this experience was also getting to know and interact with an amazing cohort of leaders across the state.
