CELESTE, Texas — The Celeste Volunteer Fire Department in Hunt County recently received a new slip
on unit through a grant from the Texas A&M Forest Service Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance
Program.
A slip-on unit is a firefighting apparatus designed for the back of a truck. It is used during wildland,
structure and automobile fires as a fast, initial attack.
“The new addition to our fleet will be used on one of our trucks for the suppression of wildfires and as
support on vehicle fires and quick water support on other accidents,” said Troy Bonneville, Celeste VFD
Assistant Chief.
This new 250-gallon tank will be a great asset in water support on wildfires.
Celeste VFD is currently recruiting hardworking, dedicated individuals that reside in the Celeste VFD
district. To know more, call (903)568-4713.
