About
The watershed protection plan implementation grant will support up to 15 $50,000 grants over five years to implement tree and forestry components of approved Watershed Protection Plans (WPP).
Eligible parties include municipalities, public utility districts, state agencies, Non-Profit Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, Tribal Entities, and Community-Based Organizations. All applicants must provide their Federal Unique Entity Identifier and their Federal Employer Identification Number. Individuals, Businesses, and Federal Agencies are not eligible.
Watershed Protection Plans
A WPP is a framework for implementing integrated water quality protection and restoration strategies driven by environmental objectives. Watershed protection planning is locally driven to address complex water quality problems that cross multiple jurisdictions. Using nature-based solutions that increase strategically placed tree cover protect water quality while increasing equitable access to urban tree canopy and associated health, environmental and economic benefits.
