Christmas Tree Farms
You may not immediately think "Texas" when you hear something about Christmas tree farms, but the Christmas tree industry is alive and well (and growing!) in our state. The Texas Christmas Tree Growers Association maintains information on member farms and makes it available on their website. This month’s map was made from that information.
I grabbed the tree farm addresses from the website and used ArcGIS Pro’s geocoding tools to convert the addresses to points on the map. I clipped the map to the Texas boundary, exported to PNG with transparent background, and put it all together in Photoshop. The green gradient that forms the background was derived from a picture of a Virginia pine tree, a popular Christmas tree choice in Texas, using Adobe Color.

If you got a tree from a choose-and-cut farm, where did you get yours?
