The Beach City Volunteer Fire Department used a $20,000 grant from the Rural
Volunteer Fire Departments Assistance Program to purchase much-needed fire/rescue equipment such as
thermal imaging cameras, rescue tools and other firefighting accessories.
The equipment will help protect firefighters, assist with extrications and expand capabilities for the
department and other firefighting agencies in Chambers County.
Fire Chief Patrick McDonald stressed how the new items will complement older equipment still in use,
expanding the department’s capabilities to better serve the community.
Beach City VFD is looking for new members. Anyone interested in joining the department can email
[email protected] for more information.
McDonald said the department would like to thank the Texas A&M Forest Service, community members,
and city and county officials for their support.
