Bronte Volunteer Fire Department received a $19,700 equipment grant through
the Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program to help purchase new rescue equipment,
hand tools and lighting that will be beneficial in the safety of department members and those they help.
“The recent acquisition of funds from Texas A&M Forest Service has allowed us to upgrade
equipment to better serve our county and neighboring community when the need arises to battle
structure and wildland fires, vehicle accidents and assisting fellow departments in mutual aid,” said
Bronte VFD Fire Chief Martin De La Garza.
The department received vehicle stabilization tools, firefighting tools, a thermal imaging camera, and
portable generator. Having the right tools for the job makes it easier to accomplish the task.
“The members of the Bronte Volunteer Fire Department thank Texas A&M Forest service for having
equipment grants available,” said De La Garza. “Our members are proud to serve the community and
having the updated tools that will help in our efforts.”
