Haskell Fire Department replaces old equipment

The Haskell Fire Department received a new extrication cutter and spreader
through the Rural Volunteer Fire Department Grant Assistance Program.

These tools are used to rescue and extricate victims of vehicle crashes and assist in making forcible
entry at emergency scenes. The department’s previous extrication cutter and spreader were no longer
operational, significantly limiting its their response capacity.

Haskell FD is the primary rescue team in the county, making these tools vital to their community. “We
would like to thank the Texas A&M Forest Service for making sure we are equipped to serve our
district,” said Casey Moeller, Chief of the Haskell FD.

The department is looking for dedicated individuals. For more information, call (940) 864-3052.
