Texas A&M Forest Service is accepting applications for a pair of $50,000 grants to promote healthy trees and forests.

Since Jan. 1, firefighters with Texas A&M Forest Service and local fire departments saved 8,056 homes in the path of wildfire. Many of those homes had the first layers of protection — defensible space and fire-resistant construction materials — before fire crews arrived.
