The Texas State Arbor Day Celebration is being held in the City of Plano. The celebration will feature a ceremony, educational activities and free tree adoptions. Events are free and open to the public. The theme of the celebration is Healthy Trees, Healthy Lives.

Texas A&M Forest Service, The USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Lubbock County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD), Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, High Plains Underground Water Conservation District and Texas Parks and Wildlife invite you to join them for the second in a series of conservation workshops on October 24 at 5 p.m. at the Lubbock Lake Landmark at 2401 Landmark Lane.

Landowners in the high plains region of Texas may be eligible for funding that would assist in the creation of vegetative fuel breaks on private lands. Through Dec. 20, 2019, Texas A&M Forest Service will be accepting grant applications.
