Come spend the afternoon at the Bush Library to celebrate Texas State Arbor Day! Opening ceremony is at 10 a.m. followed by a tree planting ceremony at 11 a.m. At 11:15 a.m. the exhibit will open and there will be an educational fair until 2 p.m.

Texas A&M Forest Service in partnership with Texas A&M University Press published the book Famous Trees of Texas: Texas A&M Forest Service Centennial Edition. Texas A&M Forest Service in partnership with the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, and the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation is hosting an exhibit highlighting the history of the agency over the past 100 years. The exhibit is located in the travelling exhibit gallery of the museum in College Station, Texas through November 8, 2015. The exhibit is open to the public. The agency is expected to be recognized at the February 12, 2015 meeting of the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents, College Station, Texas.
The agency’s centennial celebration kicked off at the annual Texas A&M Agrilife Conference, January 5—9, 2015 in College Station, Texas. The opening reception featured many of the tools and resources TFS uses to serve Texas, including fire engines, bulldozers, a mobile command center and ATVs. Guest of honor, Smokey Bear was attendance, along with the TFS arson dogs, Dozer and Tracker. The opening session of the conference was a salute to Texas A&M Forest Service. State Forester and Director Tom Boggus addressed the group during Texas A&M Forest Service: 100 years and it’s not over yet.
