  • CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS: START HERE

    Depending on the password you need to change, the steps and where you need to go may be different.  Expand the appropriate section below for detailed password change steps for the various password enabled systems at Texas A&M Forest Service.

    Tip: If you just received an e-mail entitled "IR Notification: Your Password is Expiring", instructions are in the first tab below.


     + @tfs.tamu.edu Password

    Your @tfs.tamu.edu Password grants access to the following systems (where applicable):


    Changing your password using the instructions below will change the password for all of the systems listed above.

    If your primary office is College Station or Lufkin, the steps below will also change the password for your computer. In some cases, there can be up to a 15 minute delay before your computer gets updated.
     


    To change your @tfs.tamu.edu password via our Self-Service Password Portal, follow these steps:

    1. Go to https://password.tfs.tamu.edu.

    2. Login using your current e-mail address and e-mail password.

    3. You'll be prompted for DUO, two-factor authentication.  (Note: If this is your first time using the password portal, you'll be required to set up your two-factor option.  DUO Push to a smart phone is highly recommended.)

    4. Go to the "Change Password" tab.

    5. Enter your old password, and then a new password.  Be sure to confirm your new password.  *

    6. Click the "Change Password" button at the bottom of the page.

     

    Tip: If you can't remember your password, try the "Forgot your password?" link on the home page.  You must have previously enrolled for the service, however.

    * When choosing your new password be sure to note the following complexity requirements:

    • Make your password a long one, at least fourteen characters.
    • Include at least one upper-case letter.
    • Include at least one lower-case letter.
    • Include at least one number [0-9] or special character [ex. !@#$%^&...].  Remember, a space is a special character!
    • Be sure not to use any personally identifiable information in any part of your password.
      (ex. Your name, username, birthday, home address, employee ID, etc...)
    • Make sure your password was not used for the last four changes.
    • Keep your new password for at least 24 hours before changing it again. 


    Tip: If your primary office is not College Station or Lufkin, go ahead and change your computer passwords as well.  Expand the next section to get started.

     + Your Computer - Standard Account

    To change your password for your computer, follow these steps:

    (Note: These instructions are for Windows 7 but also work with Windows 10)

    1. If not already, login to your computer using your standard, everyday account.

    2. Once logged on, press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Del] all at the same time.

    3. From the menu, select "Change a password...".

    4. If applicable, select the user to change the password for. (Click where you see your username.)

    5. Type in the old password, new password, and then confirm the new password. *
      (Note: The DOMAIN\username part will be filled out for you.)

    6. Press [Enter] or click the arrow.

    7. Click "Ok" to finish.

     + Your Computer - Admin Account

    To change your password for your computer's admin account, follow these steps:

    (Note: These instructions are for Windows 7 but also work with Windows 10.)

    1. If you are logged in under your standard account, press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Del].
       
    2. From the menu, select "Change a password...".

    3. If applicable, select the user to change the password for. (Click where you see your username.).  Windows 10 users can skip this step.

    4. Add a "-admin" to the end of your username.  (NOTE: This step is hugely important!  Otherwise, you'll be changing the password for your standard account again.)
       
    5. Type in the old password, new password, and then confirm the new password. *
      (Note: The DOMAIN\username part will be adjusted to what you added in step 4.)

    6. Press [Enter] or click the arrow.

    7. Click "Ok" to finish.

     + FAMIS / Canopy

    To change your password for Canopy, follow these steps:

    N/A: Canopy no longer uses the FAMIS login to get in.  It is part of the TAMUS SSO menu at https://sso.tamus.edu.  Login at that site to get to Canopy.  

     


     

    To change your password for FAMIS, follow these steps:

    1. Open FAMIS on your computer.
       
    2. Type "tpx" to get to the login screen.
       
    3. Put in your Userid, current Password, then specify a New Password.  Press [Enter]
       
    4. The next screen will ask you to confirm your new password.

     + TAMUS Single Sign-on (Using the UIN Login)

    Your TAMUS SSO Password grants access to the following systems:
     

    • Workday
    • TrainTraq
    • HRConnect (Legacy)
    • Canopy
    • Concur
    • iBenefits
    • Maestro

    Changing your TAMUS SSO Password using the instructions below will change the password for all of these systems.  NOTE: If you use your @tfs.tamu.edu password to get into SSO, you can safely ignore these steps.


    To change your password for TAMUS Single Sign-on, follow these steps:

    1. Go to https://sso.tamus.edu.
       
    2. Login with your UIN and password.
       
    3. Click on the "Profile" tab.
       
    4. Enter a password and verify the password.
       
    5. Click "Save".


    If you need help or are locked out of your account, try the "I forgot my password" link on the login page for SSO or contact Employee Development at (979) 458-6690.

     + Laserfiche

    To change your password for Laserfiche, follow these steps:

    Pro tip: Before you begin, open a different browser or start an "In Private" browsing session so your AgNet and TFS accounts do not confuse each other.  

    1. Go to the AgriLife First-Call Portal.
       
    2. Click "Click here if you need to change your password".

    3. Login using your @agnet.tamu.edu account.
       
    4. Enter your Old Password, put in a New Password and confirm it.
        
    5. Click "Submit".


    If you are locked out of your account or can't remember your password, try the first two links on the AgNet Password Reset page or contact AgriLife's First-Call at (979) 985-5737.
