    CAPITAL INTERAGENCY WILDFIRE & INCIDENT MANAGEMENT ACADEMY

    WHO: Personnel from multiple participating agencies

    Academy partners include the Texas A&M Forest Service, Texas Army National Guard, USDA Forest Service, National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Weather Service, The Nature Conservancy and the Texas Wildfire Association.

    WHAT: Media is invited to attend Field Day to learn more about the academy and visit classes covering engine operations, chainsaw work and tactical decision making in the wildland urban interface.

    WHEN: 11:00 a.m. – midafternoon

    WHY: The 22nd annual Capital Interagency Wildfire & Incident Academy provides professional training on a variety of wildfire and incident management subjects to students from different agencies and disciplines.
