    Texas A&M Forest Service Response Strategies

    Resources that help to protect Texas during disasters:

    Type III Incident Management Teams support and assist in the management of natural and man-made emergencies, disasters and acts of terrorism. 

    Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System includes grants, training, qualifications and mobilization systems to make statewide use of local resources.
     
    National Wildfire Coordinating Group is an operational group designed to coordinate programs of the participating wildfire management agencies.
     
     

     

     


     + Incident Response Personnel
     
    Fire Coordinators work with local jurisdictions and fire departments to coordinate wildfire response. Fire Coordinators help to facilitate a suite of capacity building programs that equip, train and provide grant funding to fire departments across the state. Additionally, they work with communities and local government to reduce potential wildfire risks through mitigation and prevention programs.
