  • GEOCACHING: TEXAS ECLIPSE GEOCOINS

When day turns to night, leave Texas right!

This geocoin was created to commemorate two eclipses crisscrossing the heart of Texas in the span of 6 months: an annular solar eclipse, sometimes called a 'ring of fire', on October 14, 2023, and a total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024.

One hundred trackable geocoins have been registered at geocaching.com.

The coins were originally placed in various Texas A&M Forest Service geocaches and other public geocaches across the state. Geocachers are able to locate, move and log these trackable coins.

Since their release, Texas Eclipse geocoins have:

    • Visited 31 states (plus the District of Columbia)
    • Been found in 9 different countries
    • Traveled over 97,000 miles (almost 4 times around the earth!)
